Tips & Tricks
Here is are a few tips & tricks I learned when creating album artwork:
- Always make sure your album artwork is unique and not replicating other artists album covers.
- If you use photoshop then make sure you are not using a copyright image (unless you have permission or license).
- Use the right fonts, colours, & imagery that represent your music to the fullest.
- Capture the emotions, mood and tone of your songs and albums in the artwork. (Listen to the songs or album while making artwork to get the picture).
- Don’t mislead people with album artwork (Don’t make a low effort album art and put it a the cover for amazing albums or songs).
- Use editing tools and photo shading to clean up shadow pixelating on artwork.
- Don’t make minimal cover art, Its lazy and will drag down the album quality. (Especially in this digital era where minimal album art is more common).
- Images must be at least 3000 x 3000 pixels. Any lower or higher and the artwork will appear pixelated, blurry or misaligned.
- Create the album artwork is in your own style and your own ascetic.
- Make sure the album artwork is timeless!
